Saturday

Christmas 2019

Saturday 12/21

After arriving at the Alexander’s, we went to explore downtown Durham.  We walked around checking out the murals (that I didn’t photograph) and toured the art gallery in the 21c Museum Hotel.  The coolest thing was the mirrors that let you see all around the 4 cornered passageway outside the old bank vault!

Since Henry and Audrey will be at their dad’s on Christmas, Katie wrote Santa and asked him to come tomorrow morning! So tonight everyone dressed in their new pajamas, a family tradition!

Sunday

First thing on the agenda was opening presents. Henry loved the UNC gear to go with his new bunk bed over desk furniture for his room.

Audrey loved her new makeup vanity.

The day was spent playing with new toys and games plus the kids worked hard getting 10,000 steps on their Fitbits!  The day ended by sharing Christmas dinner with Nick, Emma and Will.

Monday

Katie was off to work and Grandma and Grandpa took Henry and Audrey shopping to spend their Christmas money!

Henry got a pin ball game and quickly established himself as the all time champ!

Audrey could not resist adding to her Barbie collection with a new grocery set!

Tuesday and Wednesday

David picked up the kids after lunch and we hung out with Katie. The “hit” present for her was ROKR wooden models!

We had a great Christmas celebration in Hillsborough!
Thanks Katie.

Thursday

We’re off to SC arriving in time to open presents and enjoy a Christmas dinner with the Hills.

Friday

Grandma and Grandpa took Maggie shopping so she could spend her Christmas money!  She bought a beautiful doll she could not resist buying!

We stopped for lunch where Maggie could get her favorite crepe!

Then we met Kelley and went to Huntington SP. It was a beautiful day for a walk on the beach!

Finally, we went to Brookgreen Gardens for to see the Light up the New Year show.  It was fantastic, so beautiful!

Saturday

To begin the day, we went to Savannah’s Playground and then stopped at Toffino’s Italian Bakery and Deli for lunch.  On the way home, we stopped at Walmart so Maggie could buy some accessories for her new doll baby! Did we take any photos today....no!

Sunday

First, we went for a hike in the SP so Maggie could get a head start on logging 10,000 steps on her Fitbit.  We saw two alligators!

We planned to go to the art museum in Myrtle Beach but when we got there, it was closed for renovations.  On the way back we stopped at the oldest flea market on the Grand Strand!  It was an experience!

Then we stopped to get Maggie one of her favorite treats, I think she likes sweets!

Walking along the Marsh Walk, we saw a Pod of Pelicans, more than we have ever seen in one spot!  This one was on a Key West boat, one a little bigger than our boat.

We had a great Christmas celebration in Murrells Inlet.
Thanks, Kelley an Seth!
